I made this vibe-coding project after reading Algospeak by Adam Aleksic, and after living through the sloppification of communication over the last few years.

In Algospeak (2025), linguist Adam Aleksic shows how platforms have become one of the strongest forces shaping language. Unalive, seggs, le dolla bean are not slang: they are evasive manoeuvres, words bent around an invisible censor. Add brain rot, Oxford's word of the year 2024, and slop, Merriam-Webster's word of the year 2025, and you get the native idiom of the feed: l33t, uwu, mOcKiNg case, emoji as punctuation.

Algopoetryslop feeds the canon into that grinder until the poem is perfectly safe for the feed and completely cursed. Folk cryptography for the masses.

A friend asked me: “but whyyyyyyyyyy?”

Because I wanted to think about how language has changed, and how something as ordinary as a poem, written in plain standard language, can get flagged by an algorithm. It is a reflection on censorship and content moderation: a way to show what it means to have to speak the way the algorithm wants, just so your content doesn't get banned ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Franziska Von Guten (b. 1985, Italy) is an art director, artist and researcher working across design, internet culture and curatorial practice.

Her work investigates how digital subcultures produce meaning, affect and forms of collectivity within networked environments.

She began engaging with the internet in the mid-1990s, an encounter that continues to inform her long-term interest in the aesthetics and politics of online content. Since childhood she has maintained an ongoing archiving practice, organising and cataloguing visual material as both method and compulsion. This sustained engagement with accumulation and classification runs through her work, which often explores the tension between the archive and its breakdown.

In 2014 she co-founded the collective Clockworkberry and co-produced Fuck Your Selfie, a multimedia project examining social media narcissism and the politics of self-representation.

In 2016 she co-curated Post Vision, a platform dedicated to post-internet art, and co-founded Clusterduck, an art collective working across research, design and transmedia practices. With Clusterduck she has co-created exhibitions and installations including The Detective Wall, Deep Fried Feels and (W)hole, a cooperative world-building installation commissioned by KiöR Zürich (2025). Collective publications include The Detective Wall Guide (Aksioma, 2021) and Deep Fried Feels (Nero, 2024).
